Thriving isn’t a personality trait. It’s a result of *skills* that many of us weren't taught or modeled.
I teach those skills through a portfolio of businesses and offerings - group wellness programs in workplaces, 1:1 life coaching, and creative projects. I love helping people feel less anxious and more stoked about their lives.
My approach? Professional, practical, and actionable — with a dash of woo and sprinkle of sass.

Here we are! It's 2026.
There's a lot of talk about manifestation, goal-setting, and positive affirmations. I want to be clear: there's a way to do that works that doesn't reek of toxic positivity.
What I care about is personal agency — your ability to work wisely with what’s actually in front of you. Instead of assuming the day (or the season) is already decided.
Let me show you what I mean.
A Real Story from my Kitchen
My kids got affirmation cards for Christmas. (Spoiler alert: from me!)
Every morning, they draw one before school.
The other day, Lucy woke up cranky and decided the cards were wrong — so she made her own.
Exhibit A:
Exhibit A: “Everything that happens today is going to be bad.”
Yep, she was in a *mood*.
I reminded her of something we talk about a lot in our house: you don’t control everything — but you do have way more agency over how you experience your day than it feels like in the moment.
I assured her "Lulu, there are many ways to make your day good!"
She wasn’t having it. Sometimes you just want to be grumpy. I get that.
(Thanks to one of my favorite kid's books The Grumpy Monkey for helping me see this more clearly).
I didn’t push. I told her I loved her, and that I’d be there to talk about her day — whatever happened — when she got home.
At drop-off, she called my husband, Jay, back at the last moment and whispered, “Dad, do you have any tips to turn my bad day good?”
His answer was simple: try smiling.
She considered it. Then turned back toward her classroom.
The Shift
When Lucy came home that afternoon, she was completely different. Big smile. Skipping. Light.
It was baffling, honestly. She’d had a genuinely good day.
She even went back to the affirmation card she’d written and amended it. Exhibit B:
Exhibit B: "Everything is going to make the day bad... good. It was good!"
"Everything is going to make the day bad... good. It was good!" (She event went so far as to suggest we should frame this sign and put it in a museum.)
Once she was more regulated, she realized she had more say in her day than she thought. Not control — agency.

Jen Ottovegio Coaching March 3, 2026 This weekend I did lots of things that scared me. I want to tell you about two of them. 😳 On Friday, I went to an erotica poetry open mic night at my local pub. As I was preparing to go, I thought: “I cannot imagine sharing something like that with a room full of strangers.” And of course… the moment I had that thought, I knew I wanted to try. I’ve learned something about myself over the years: If I want to grow, I have to keep doing different things. Not...
Jen Ottovegio Coaching February 23, 2026 Just getting off the heels of a couple intentionally slow days at the Oregon Coast. I integrated by writing a new (and potent, I must say) piece. This piece felt important enough to just send directly. It’s about the skills that will actually matter in the next decade. (Per my opinion, as I don't have a magic ball). I'd argue these were important skills in every decade thus far. But in this moment of AI, things feel different. I make the case that the...
Jen Ottovegio Coaching February 16, 2026 One year from now... how do you want to feel? In your body, in your work, in your relationships, in your mind. Grounded? Proud? Like you were truly in the driver’s seat of your life? Personally, I don’t want to look back 12 months from now, wondering where my energy went. And I don't want that for you either. So today, I'm launching something to support us in living with more intention. Introducing: The Intentional Year Project Between now and March...
